About Haydn Wood

1882 – 1959

Born in Slaithwate, within a few miles of where the festival is currently based, Haydn Wood was one of the leading English composers of his day. One of his most famous works, “Roses of Picardy”, written during World War 1, is known the world over for its sentimental beauty. The festival was formed in 1959 to commemorate his truly incredible life.

The next festival is going to be on the 18th and 19th of November 2022 and held at the Linthwaite Methodist Church, West Yorkshire.
